The recent smart telecommunication device what we call ipads are been designated as Personal Computer by Microsoft. In the conference held in the heart of Microsoft a number of i-pads and tablets has been traced. But everybody recognized it as a PC rather than a PM (Personal Mobile). The evergreen reason that they point out is the identical features and facilities given by both the devices. So the question mark arises here!! Whether the patent rights given for i-pads are curtailed by the title “PC” which was already in the market in 1970s.
Personal mobiles and personal computers are theoretically different. Even though they offer ipso facto identical facility, they are different by nature. Personal computers are the general purpose computers equipped with a micro processor and designed to run especially commercial software for an individual user. Literal sense of man identifies i-pad as a PC. The confusion here has rose due to the technological development.
With respect to patent, PC and i-pads are different due to its structural difference which imposes the novel character in i-pad that rang its patent approval. Let us wait and see the old locus of telecommunication devices inside the wide area of PC develop to that extent where PC and laptops vanished from the social tongue.

The internal wing of the Department of Telecom (DoT) has ruled that the internal telecom agreements between Bharti Airtel Ltd, Vodafone India Ltd and Idea Cellular Ltd as illegal and has asked the department to initiate action against the three mobile phone companies, including the issue of show cause notice and imposition of pecuniary penalties. that the bilateral third-generation (3G) spectrum roaming agreements between the three GSM biggies offers high-speed Internet services to their users in license areas where they had not acquired spectrum in a 2010 auction.
There have been controversies revolving around the issue ever since the operators publicized in July that they had entered into roaming agreements with each other, allow them to make available to users 3G services, even in circles where they did not succeed in obtaining spectrum.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), the government owned telecom service, and various other telecom company managements had put in requests to the department to inspect whether the roaming agreements were legal. DoT had been given recommendations by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) as well as several significant divisions of DoT, including wireless planning and finance, wireless planning and coordination, and the licensing finance divisions to declare the agreements as illegal.
The law ministry had also given their approval to declare the roaming agreements as illegal.
The contention put forth by the operators was that the agreements were purely of commercial nature and was based on a June 2008 amendment to the telecom rules that permitted an operator to provide services on another operator’s network till such time as they could set up their own. The amendment was made to help new operators, who had been given licenses in January 2008, start services as soon as possible.
The decision of the DoT also comes to effect due to the fact that the roaming agreement among telecom companies for 3G services would cause considerable loss of revenue to the government.
As inquiries progress into continue to different altitudes into the phone-hacking issue, News International Chairman James Murdoch has finally divulged that he had received an email in 2008 that dealt with detailed phone-hacking and replied to the message on his BlackBerry but claimed he “did not read the full e-mail chain”. He has stood by his continual public denial that he did not know anything about the widespread hacking at the News of the World tabloid at the time he agreed for a large legal arrangement with a victim of the practice in 2008.
A chain of e-mail messages and replies published on Tuesday by a British parliamentary panel shows that Mr. Murdoch had been notified of a wider hacking problem at the tabloid long before he has admitted.
These new documents appear to add fuel to the controversy fire that has severely dented the reputation of the News Corporation and the Murdochs’ management, both in Britain and in the United States. The e-mail chain of messages backs up the accounts of two of James Murdoch’s former senior executives, an in-house lawyer and an editor, who said they had told him of evidence that illegal interception of voice mail messages to gather reports and rumors went further than a single “rogue reporter.”
The News Corporation of Murdoch continues to maintain was restricted to a single “rogue reporter” until end of 2010.
