When were gay issues not in the blaze? Well, in California, which has State’s Largest Gay Rights Group Equality California based in its heart, earlier this day was caught in another spark concerning therapy for gays. The state’s first-of-its-kind law which prohibits licensed psychotherapists from trying to change the sexual orientations of gay minors violates the Constitution. There are two sides of the coin, while some say it is violative of the first amendment, others prefer to leave it on the individual. The law, which said that therapists and counselors who were using definitive methods to change the sexual orientation of clients under 18 were violating the constitution and that it was unprofessional, shameful and subject to discipline by state licensing boards.
In October this same law was passed by the Legislature and signed by Gov. Jerry Brown, amidst much furor from the gay rights activist. The two judges on 4th December too, were on opposite side of law and while they gave different reasons for the issues, they maintained that the future of the constitution remains unclear.
